The March Roundup.

It’s already April which means time for another monthly roundup. I feel like around this time of the year, time flies by and the first quarter of the year is already gone! I really don’t mind as it’s April which means it’s basically Spring now. I was really quiet on the blog the past few couple weeks as I was very busy with uni work (no surprise) and I think I lost the inspiration to snap pics and write, so I gave myself some time off and focused on life and eventually brainstormed ideas and plans for future blog posts. I wasn’t able to do one of these in February as my whole month was just full of uni work and I got ill and had to recover from that, but all if fine now!

March was a pretty calm month university wise as I didn’t have many deadlines, only 3 and two of them were formative so I wasn’t graded on them. After a busy hectic February with being so stressed I set myself goals for March to be ahead of my uni assignments and to be organised and it actually worked. I set myself little tasks to do everyday at the beginning of each week which then lead to the assignments being done slowly but steadily, so I wasn’t having a breakdown because I was stressed or won’t get them done on time. I would definitely recommend to any uni students to break down the tasks they have to do for each assignment and go through it slowly and it all gets done on time.

For example, if it’s an essay that I had to write, I would give myself a month before the deadline to start planning and finding resources for it. Firstly I would note down the question and brainstorm ideas as to what I think I want to include in my essay, then make a vague essay plan split it into paragraphs etc. Next, I’d go to the library at uni with my friends and we would find books and readings for the essay and photocopy them. I’d do a couple readings and then write a detailed essay plan and then show my tutor and ask if everything is fine with it etc. Then I’d do all the readings I have over a week or two. Lastly, I’d start writing the essay and give myself at least a week to write it as some days I’m super productive and get 1000 words done and dusted and some I have writers block and can’t even get 100 down. Giving yourself enough time to write the essay will mean that your not stressed and panicking whilst writing it and you still have time to show your tutor for proof read before the deadline.

March is actually my birthday month, so there’s that. I turned 19 on the 10th of March!! I had a lovely day with my family, I went to the cinema with my cousin during the day to watch The Greatest Showman and omg I am obsessed with that movie (!!) In the evening we went out on a family meal and the whole restaurant actually ended up singing happy birthday to me which was SO awkward.

We actually got a heck load of snow in London during the first couple days of March and it was very beautiful and looked like something out of a winter wonderland, however it was SO cold and icy which meant I couldn’t go uni for a couple days as well, those days were deffo spent in at home with a hot chocolate and a movie on!

Time to set some April Goals;

  • Meet all uni deadlines for April.
  • Tick off everything on my Spring To Do List post.
  • Blog consistently (2 posts per week).
  • Finish my current reading book and start and finish another one.
  • Hit 1750 on Instagram – you can help me -HERE- (!!)
  • Be organised.
  • Plan blog content for May.
  • Journal as much as possible.

These are my goals for April and the monthly roundup of March, hope you enjoyed reading this post and comment down below what are some of your goals for April, I’d love to know.

  1. Those are some great goals, and agree that it’s also good to break bigger tasks or assignments down into smaller steps/actions, which from experience makes them more manageable. My goals for April are simple:
    1. Focus on what I can and ways that are worth spending my energy on rather than what’s not worth worrying about or outside my control
    2. Become more independent by getting familiar with the bus routes
    3. Continue to build on the blog and create a good blogging schedule.

  2. I already follow you on Instagram, but I just checked to make sure I do and you’ve hit 1,750 which is absolutely incredible! I hope all your other goals have gone just as well as that one has, and hopefully, we won’t see any more snow in April.. 🙄😂

  3. Your blog photos are simply STUNNING! Wow so uniquely done. Over from littleowlblogs.wordpress I’m a masters uni student too so definately feeling the pressure and away from my blog longer than I’d want to be 😓 x

  4. Good luck with your goals!! I always have the hardest time keeping up with reading just for fun. I have so much other stuff to do that it often kinda falls on the wayside, but I am determined to get back into it! I’m sure you are too haha 🙂

  5. I’ll be on a field trip for a lot of April, but with my deadlines in early May, my top priority is staying on top of university work! My birthday is at the end of the month, so I hope I can come out of my permanent state of stress to enjoy it.

  7. I was just thinking about how the 1st quarter of the year is gone already, that’s crazy but then again not so surprising because that usually always happens lol. Happy super belated birthday!! Mine was March 8th, I turned 24. Good luck with all your goals for April.
